I was lucky to have Joani as a neighbor, and then to work with her on Swan's 
Market. When you sat down with her at dinner, you just never knew what you were 
going to end up talking about. From folk singer, to feminist sex ed advocate, 
to cohousing, she always spoke her mind.  I wore the silver necklace she gave 
me her last month to Portland Conference 'cause I knew she was with us there.
