Dear Cohousers,


It is with many feelings that I am stepping down from my position as the
CohoUS Executive Director. My four and a half years with CohoUS have been
fantastic and challenging, fun and demanding, incredible and energizing; I
have met SO many amazing people! I loved the opportunity to not only live
in cohousing, but to work in cohousing, and I absolutely continue to
BELIEVE in cohousing. I am feeling a strong pull to do what I do, but make
more of an impact locally. Our Communications Director, Karen Gimnig, will
be serving as Interim Executive Director while the Board of Directors
receives interested applicants. With each ED, the organization has seen
amazing growth and I look forward to seeing what the next person will bring.

 (CohoUS) is a national nonprofit organization which promotes and supports
cohousing communities in changing our world. Spreading the word about the
ways cohousing shifts the culture toward a new American dream, we promote
and support communities where people are surrounded by caring,
collaborative neighbors who use fewer of the earth’s resources while living
an abundant life.


Building on CohoUS' thirty-year history, the association is poised for a
new chapter that creates more cohousing emphasizing affordability and
inclusion. CohoUS is seeking a new Executive Director. In their first year,
the ED will refocus the organization's strategic vision, host a national
conference in Madison, WI, and continue our extremely successful online
event series. The ED, working with the Board of CohoUS, will be responsible
for the overall success of the organization.
