Are you referencing gather as in Gather Town? I was introduced to it via
hackathons that I compete in. im gong to assume you re familiar with
what hackathons are. people form all around the country competing to solve
problems. We use gather town as a place to Meet & Greet before our
official hackathon begins. I kinda like it. Very useful too! I liked the
fact that you can customize your spaces, you can gather as a big group or
break off into smaller groups, or you can have a private convo by
going off. A feature I like is that you can see everything thats going on.
for example, you can see when big groups are meeting because everyone will
have an avatar. you can also see when two people are trying to have a
private conversation. another huge plus for me was the fact that you can
also use WHITEBOARDS!!!! big feature for project related work.

and its also a throwback to use old school gamers! very good way to do
virtual without creating a whole new virtual universe. you can still see
people actual faces too!

hope this helps! i think you should give it a try at least!
