Hi Karin We remodeled our home to bring my mother hear to live with us. Uncertain that she actually would do so, we wanted the possibility of recouping the money by renting out the space as an airbnb. This was back in October 2015. We never availed ourselves of this option, but the community(Monterey Cohousing) approved the following guidelines we suggested for use of our home in this way (approval was very specific just to us): A keyed lock on our tunnel door will prevent guest's access to interior common space. We might give our guests tours of interior common space or invite them to attend community meal or community events with the understanding that we need to be present if they are in common space. We would post notice on the TODAY board and Mococochat of guests’ names and itinerary as soon as we know this information. We will instruct our Air BNB guests to introduce themselves as such to anyone they will encounter in outdoor common space. We will have Air BnB guests park on our pad if there is not sufficient space available in guest parking. In the case of insufficient guest parking, we would move one of our cars into our garage or to city street parking. We would only host guests while we are at home. I hope that helps! Are you planning to be at the conference in Madison this August?
