One of our more creative and skilled members designed a really nice Black Lives Matter graphic. We had an inexpensive sign made that we hung on our construction fence (implication being that no one lived there, so nighttime mischief was highly probable). We had a few copies, and when the first one was stolen, we replaced it. If I recall correctly, the second one was taken down too, and we replaced it again. After that, it was left alone. The theory is that replacing the sign shows that you're not easily intimidated but that you're also not intent on escalation. Whether that is how this plays out in the mind of the perpetrator is something we can't know, of course.
