Community Moves a Household -- Appreciation ABC

This was posted to our internal list this week by a member who moved from a
unit on one end of the community to a unit on the other end. The unit she was
moving into had been empty for 2 years because the owner had died without
signing a will so it was in probate and had not been maintained well for 22
years! It took 2 months to move walking back and forth from this end to that
end to tear out cabinets, replace floors, etc.

She took the time to thank everyone who helped her along the way and created
this lovely piece of work. (Shared with permission. A word added here and there
for clarity.)

Dear Neighbors -

My move out of 214 is officially complete!

I wish I could say my move "into" 123 is also complete, but it will be another
6 weeks before we have a full kitchen and probably another 6 years before I
finish unpacking. :)

Throughout the many months it's taken to execute the purchase and get the major
upgrades completed, so many of you have helped in so many ways.

Here is an ABC list of appreciation and gratitude!

Alicia for Resale Pod support throughout the buying/selling process, and plus
passing along an awesome rug
Ann for Resale Pod support throughout the buying/selling process
Anna for helping me take care of my worn-out ankle tendon
Barb for making me dinner while kitchenless, plus doing TVC's first
architectural review from abroad
Bernadette for lending her helpful husband on many an occasion
Ben for advising on my DIY gas stove removal & elevator assist
Bill for sharing boxes in my hour of need
Bruce for setting me up with WiFi in 123
Carol for enthusiastic reviews every step of the way
Carrie for managing the gate and elevator on my move day
Colin for helping put up/take down elevator blankets
Deborah for "wow!" and other affirmations throughout
Dennis for being a very noise-tolerant downstairs neighbor
Don for some critical hand-me-downs from his office
Drew for technical advice on a few confusing things
Elana for letting Thalia and Naomi take on heavy lifting
Herb for Herculean efforts in clearing out 123 and personal "shopper" services,
finding things I needed for the new place
Hope & Schuyler for showing me the light (or at least the lighting consultant)
Jackie for a plethora of plastic totes
Jameel for "fixing" multiple electrical issues by showing me how my breaker
worked
Joanna for so many things, but especially dinner on the day of our move
Kathy for a delicious housewarming stew
Kenny for a gift of awesome vintage jars for my open shelving
Louise for recommending the place where I got my floors
Lowell for late-night delivery of much-needed moving boxes
Manuela for impressive wielding of a sledgehammer
Marcia for forgiving me for accidentally stealing her big box
Mark for helping to remove a stubborn kitchen cabinet
Meg for pro-level paint color consults
Nancy for finding a home for Diva, the budgie who didn't want to move to our
new place
Paul for the speedy architectural review on my windows
Peter for keeping an eye on the "Treasury" while I was distracted
Priscilla for helping to manage the mischief of pesky pests
Robbin for sharing boxes and putting up with reno noise
Sharon for encouraging me to tell the community I wanted 123
Sue for the cheery color commentary on my carpet removal

I failed to mention, this one's for you.

Thanks to all.

Best,
Julie
