My church runs a queer senior dinner in a red town and every post gets
hate responses.

The trick is to have someone watching and to *Hide* the hateful
responses. The advantage to HIDE rather than delete is that the poster
doesn't know you've hidden it. It keeps from having discussions about
the hate.
