Hello Peter,

One of our residents here at Jamaica Plain Cohousing is a
professional cellist with numerous appearances, mostly notable in Rhode
Island. She also has students she teaches and does recitals with -- our
living room has a donated piano. Also, a previous resident was a
retired flutist from the Boston Symphony.

Boston, of course, is a good place for chamber music and chamber music players!

JI am seeking to buy into a cohousing community that has a strong
interest in chamber music, perhaps to the point that I need not worry
about the sound transmission from my grand piano. Originally a
Vermonter, one who enjoyed living in Champlain Valley CoHousing there
both in ?11-?12 and ?16, I definitely hope to end up in the norther
latitudes. Perhaps this is a silly question, but included in it is the
implied question ?is there a strong chamber music community near
cohousing?? Dreaming of being part of an accomplished musical team that
plays quartets/trios such as of Mozart, Brahms and the other guys and
(always) unrepresented women.

 Respectfully, Peter Hewitt, Corvallis, OR

Hi Kelli!
I recently moved into an intergenerational cohousing community in Prescott,
Arizona. We?re celebrating our 30th anniversary next year, either myself or
someone else from the community would love to participate. We do work parties,
community dinners, solstice celebrations, and more. Let me know if you?d like
to chat more about it. My phone number is below.

Hello all,
Tell Me More About Cohousing, our little cohousing podcast project, would
love to cover the cadence of the year in cohousing if anyone is interested
in coming on and sharing how your community works and plays together during
the year. We?re thinking about- what is your budget cycle? what?s the
cadence of work days or other community tasks? what are the events you?re
looking forward to this year?

Anyone game?

Hi, this post is for an apartment rental that isn't exactly a co-housing unit,
but it's got a couple of similar elements to it, so I hope you don't mind my
posting to find like-minded people:

We have a large, beautiful one-bedroom in-law unit for rent in a great location
in Piedmont (close to Oakland, California). The in-law unit is a regular
apartment with its own entrance and separate floor. My partner and I live in
the upstairs part of the house and hope for some nice, low-key type of
socializing with the people on the ground floor. We are thinking of it as
occasional visiting - eating a meal together once a week, and perhaps going for
a walk, chatting for a bit, watching TV, or playing a game from time to time as
the spirit moves us.

We searched for a long time to buy a home that offers a beautiful space for a
renter so that we can create this vision. The in-law is an 880-square foot
floor of an old stately home, with a recently installed kitchen, fireplace,
huge windows, inlaid hardwood floors, multi-lite windows, a 22.5 foot long
great room, and a large walk-in closet. It faces south toward a lovely, large
garden with lemon and persimmon trees. It's located on a quiet, tree-lined
street in a great location just 8 minutes' walk to shops, restaurants and
cafes. Piedmont is a safe, small town with lots of pretty parks and areas for
walking.

Richard and I are 72 and 64, have a cat, and are mostly retired. Richard
values kindness and is a calm, gentle presence. I've been told that I'm warm,
a good listener, emotionally intelligent, and capable. I enjoy good
conversation, and have been involved in both social justice and personal
growth. We are looking for 1-2 people who are compatible and have a sense of
vitality, warmth, friends, and common interests.

The move-in date is a bit flexible, sometime mid-March to May 1, so there's
plenty of time to get to know each other. Please email me (Aimee) to start the
conversation going.
Please also feel free to forward this description to friends if you think they
might like this kind of housing situation. Thank you!

Maybe the DC area? I'm familiar with the NIH community orchestra
(https://nihco.org/cms/), which performs some chamber music. If you make
contact, they could probably point you to other local groups. The challenge
would be finding and affording a home that's big enough for a grand piano.

Even though we're not in a northern latitude, I'll mention Chamber Music Tulsa
(https://nihco.org/cms/), which has a robust performance schedule and has
enjoyed strong community support since 1954. Tulsa has a surprisingly vibrant
arts scene.

Hi,
Maybe Salt Lake City, Utah. Chamber Music Society of Salt Lake City
https://cmsofslc.org/
Wasatch Commons<http://wasatchcommons.com> is anticipating an opening soon. I
think a grand piano might fit into the larger 2-bedroom that is coming available
soon. Come and visit and check us out.
