That does to seem to me to be a strong and off-target accusation. In my 30 
years of cohousing experience, both the cohousing professionals and the people 
working hard to create cohousing communities that they can live in are doing so 
from a place of heart and conviction, not pocketbook. I would guess that most 
people involved in cohousing have made financial sacrifices to do so.

It’s true that homes in cohousing tend to be very expensive, but that’s true of 
all new home construction.

Truth be told, I wish many more professionals were making good money developing 
cohousing. Then the market would create a whole lot more of it. Cohousing 
remains such a fringe movement that the vast majority of homebuyers have never 
even heard of it.
