 Sharon:yes, Kailash is an amazing community! and now, they have bought an apt 
complex nextdoor and will develop that as well-I believe its name will be 
Annapurna. in the beginning of Kailash's development, they depaved much of 
their parking lot and created gardens.

A reference to this community was mentioned in the last week or so but not 
highlighted so I wanted to add more information and encourage people to look at 
the video. It?s an incredible example of what can be done "all by yourself? 
with a few hundred thousand dollars.

A couple bought a run-down apartment building themselves instead of doing 
cohousing because they wanted to do a lot of stuff ? like composting toilets ? 
that a cohousing group might not want to do. They have developed a whole eco 
complex with units participating gradually by their own choice. I think 12 are 
now using composting toilets. (They have male and female versions. Some only 
recycle urine.)

Ole Ersson, one of the first owners, walks through each part of the complex and 
explains how it works and who maintains it. They recycle everything. Very 
practical technology. They have extensive waterworks, gardens, etc. A full-time 
farmer who sells stuff at a street market. 

There are 55 residents.
