I fully agree with what Sharon said about using sociocracy. Another factor to consider is that some parts of “full” sociocracy may need to be modified to stay in line with your Declaration, Bylaws and your state non-profit and condo laws. (I am using Oregon terms for a condo, but each state and province has different laws.) Or at least be aware that you are not following those things so that your community can make an informed decision to take the risk of operating outside of the legally required structure. I believe that we can structure our communities to function within the legalities AND be supportive of the community culture that is cohousing. It is less disruptive to the community to modify your structures before you are under the time constraints of a legal complaint.
