Hello friends and colleagues in cohousing,

I’m so happy to be offering my live online Sociocracy course again, this time
in two five-week parts: Part One is middays staring Sunday, July 7, and Part
Two in October. If you'd love to experience better meetings, please join us!

SOCIOCRACY FOR COMMUNITIES, PART ONE: Proposal-Forming; Consent
Decision-Making; Effective, Enjoyable Meetings. Sundays, Jul 7 – Aug 4, 2024.
Pacific Time: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm Eastern Time: 1:00 – 3:30 pm

"A visitor said she’d never seen a community meeting be so effective,
efficient, and fun!" —Hope Horton, Common Ground Ecovillage, Chapel Hill, NC

An Sociocracy is an especially successful self-governance and decision-making
method I now highly recommend instead of consensus. Its mutually beneficial and
mutually reinforcing parts provide checks and balances against "power over"
behaviors. It’s for community members who no longer want to endure long, "go
nowhere" meetings, or meetings plagued by conflict and distress. People who
yearn for more effective, enjoyable, good-will meetings instead.

When used as designed, Sociocracy can reduce conflict and offers four powerful
benefits:
1. Better Meetings.
"Our meetings are faster and lighter and have a rhythm that feels
satisfying." —Anamaria Aristizabal, Aldeafeliz Ecovillage, Colombia

2. Getting More Done.
"People are happier and more satisfied and getting more done." —Laurie
Nelson, Cherry Hill Cohousing, Amherst, MA

3. Being Better Organized.
"Information flows better, and we have better follow-up to our decisions."
 —Anamaria Aristizabal, Aldeafeliz Ecovillage, Colombia

4. More harmony and connection in the group.
"Meetings create a sense of connectedness." —Bill Baue, Cherry Hill
Cohousing

I've taught Sociocracy successfully to cohousing communities, and other kinds
of intentional communities and member-led groups internationally since 2012. "I
loved this course. Who knew community governance could be so much fun!" —Jeff
Conklin, Riversong Cohousing, Eugene, OR, Dec. 2021 course. "Your recent
Sociocracy training was outstanding!" —William Walsh, Envision Community,
Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jan 2023 course
