Hello,As some of you know, /Communities/ magazine has been planning a compilation of remembrances of Laird Schaub as part of our Summer 2025 issue, to follow up on an initial tribute article and my own remembrances which appear in the newly-published Spring issue (see https://www.gen-us.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/206_Issue_pg.08.pdf and https://www.gen-us.net/wp-content/uploads/2025/01/206_Issue_pg.09-11.pdf). However, I learned today that this project, which I thought was nearing completion, had not started, and that its initial organizer is unable to do it. Therefore I'm sending out this last-minute appeal to several sets of recipients.
If you'd like to write a remembrance, probably in the range of 100-400 words, adding to and complementing the material that we've already published, we'd welcome your submission. If you are moved to write something longer, there may be space for a few people to do that--and on the other end of the spectrum, something as short as a haiku could fit well too. We may not be able to include everything we receive, and may also need to edit down what you write--but I would clear any edits with you.
If you are able and inspired to write something, can you send me your remembrance by *February 25*? (Again, we'll be able to accommodate a few late entries as well, but would like to assemble the main body as soon as possible.)
We are looking for personal experiences and examples of how Laird affected your and others' lives--the more specific and personal, the better. Representative anecdotes will generally be more useful than broad characterizations. Again, we don't need to hear from everybody (and do have limited space), but if you have something you'd like to share, please share it! And if others in your circles would like to send something, we'd welcome that too.
Sorry for this short time window...it wasn't planned that way. Thank you and hope to hear back from some of you!
