Four/five bedroom home here at Cantines Island Cohousing in the Beautiful
Hudson Valley. We are a wonderful community, our CommonHouse is happily used
for all kinds of events, celebrations. And neighborhood meals twice a week,
as well as sing-alongs, and various informal gatherings. We are 100 miles
North of NYC, waterfront, walkable to the Village of Saugerties Center.

OK, Also, re: Outreach aka Marketing:

Everything you list makes. sense.

We have started a new track I want to let you all know about:
we have donated Dinner for Two to a few regional Fundraisers.
It gets our information out—for free.
And folks love ‘winning’ this Gift Certificate at the fundraising auctions.
They get in touch w me [Chair, Outreach]. and eventually get here for a meal,
walkabout, hang-out—— and often tell others about us. We have re-started
Outreach fairly recently after not being active in outreach after we built and
moved in and got on with life……… I recommend adding Gift Certificates to your
Communities——
For communities not-yet-built, probably you meet for potlucks [?] and you can
figure out a way to guest folks for a potluck [ie, they bring nothing, get
enjoy a meal w you delightful folks, do a walkaround…..]

hope this is helpful……..
Ruth

Subject: Re: [C-L]_ Marketing strategies?

Greetings community advocates,
I am part of the forming Burns Village & Agrohood community in Tennessee. I
am curious as to strategies you all are using/have used to get the word out
about your cohousing community, beyond the COHO and Intentional Communities
websites, and what you think has been effective. These might include public
radio and television ads, getting interviewed on local news and community
interest programs, posting flyers in coffee shops, appearing at local Earth
Day and other community events, paying for advertising in local and
regional publications (print and digital). I know many of you use Facebook
and Instagram ads and YouTube videos and if you do, how effective do you
think have they been for you?

Thanks very much.

Rebecca
