Hi All,
I found this on the WAMM calendar, in their of interest area, and was wondering
if you are familiar with this organization:
3CTC Environmental Forum: Why We Must Halt the Path of Destruction
Monday, December 16
7:00 p.m.
Mayday Books, 301 Cedar Avenue South, Minneapolis.
Enbridge is expanding the capacity for hauling
filthy Tar Sands DilBit on its Alberta Clipper Pipeline #67 in Northern
Minnesota and also applying for a new 612-mile line from the Bakken
Shale Oil Field in North Dakota that will haul crude to refineries in
Minnesota & Wisconsin. The company has a long history of toxic oil
spills, the worst being the one in the Kalamazoo River Basin in
Michigan. Its 50,000 miles of pipelines are part of a vast network in
North America, which includes TransCanada’s Keystone XL. They deliver
both conventional fossil fuels & extreme energy to market, the
burning of which adds hugely to global warming & climate change. Our
speakers will explain why enough is enough and the Path of Destruction
must be shut down now before it’s too late.
Sponsored by: The Climate Crisis Coalition of the Twin Cities (3CTC).
FFI: Visit 3CTC.
Peace,
Madeline
