Dear Stan,

Here are three important facts.

FACT 1: Climate change is real.
FACT 2: Humans are causing it.
*FACT 3: The only way Washington is going to do anything about it is if we
make them do something about it.*

I'm among a pretty large group of senators committed to doing whatever it
takes to raise awareness about the urgent need for action to address
climate change -- and we're asking you to join us.

There's plenty of data to support the scientific consensus on climate
change. But there's also plenty of data to support the sad conclusion that
Washington just isn't ready to take action.

But we don't have time to wait for politicians to come to terms with the
facts. And we don't have the luxury of letting powerful special interests
set the terms of this debate.

We have to demand action. And this petition is an important way for you to
get involved.

We can solve the climate change challenge. But first, we have to solve the
