Greeting Neighbors,

I offer an invitation-to a dessert potluck!- and some words of comfort from
a St. Paul NFP activist.

I'm interested in meeting here in NMpls again. Who would like to host?

Perhaps a dessert potluck...

Dear friends and neighbors,

Somehow I think we need each other more than ever. I am stunned and
heartbroken...mourning, reflection, and sleep are among my priorities in
the aftermath of such a loss.

I am proud of what we accomplished in Minnesota. And I have learned more
about political campaigns, grassroots organizing, doorknocking, and GOTV.
I have ideas about how to build on our efforts and move forward.

In the meantime, a war is raging. As with Viet Nam, it is we,the people,
who will force our politicians to end the war.

Our November 14th Crocus Hill / W. 7th Neighbors for Peace Dessert Potluck
party topic will be ìThe Road Map Out of Iraq.î This proposal has been
presented to several members of congress and embraced by Betty McCollum,
Jim Oberstar, Martin Sabo, Dennis Kucinich, and others. We will have a
quest speaker and lively discussion. You will learn what you can do to
help advance the Road Map. For more information about the Road Map, go
to:

http://www.roadmapoutofiraq.org
Please bring neighbors, friends, and a snack or
dessert to share. We hold Dessert Potluck Parties for
Peace every second Sunday of the month.

The following was sent to me by Suzanne Linton:

Linda,

What do you think of the idea of the organizers or the facilitators of
all the Neighbors for Peace accross Minnesota trying to gather and discuss
where to go from here. Also share some good activites that have worked
well.

Dear Neighbors for Peace leaders,

I passed on a request for a gathering from Suzanne Linton to all of you
yesterday. Shortly afterwards, I received the following email about a
gathering this Sunday and I sent it to all of you, thinking it was a start
for what Suzanne requested.

Since yesterday, I have received email replies from several of you--saying
a gathering would be a good idea. I plan to go to the gathering on
Sunday.

In the meantime, I will forge ahead with peace and justice work. I sent
you invitations to our Dessert Potluck Parties for Peace on Nov. 14 and
Dec. 12.

I realize that our neighborhood groups range from very active to dormant.
I encourage all of you to put your energies into your dreams and hopes.
Find ways to work for peace and justice, whatever that means for you.
Despite our setbacks, we have and can make a difference.

Do you realize that Minnesotans lead the nation in their opposition to the
Iraq War, based on exit polls from this election? We have made a
difference.

So, take time to mourn, gather your energy and strength, then join
together and organize. We all have work to do.

peace,
Linda Winsor
