At Cornerstone Cohousing, in Arlington, MA , we are HOPING that we are just about to make a deal with a property owner. Of course, we've been hoping for many months now... At any rate, one of the issues raised by our consultants/architects is whether we can manage the quick decisions needed during construction using our current consensus process, which entails bringing a proposal to one meeting, and then consensing it at the next meeting two weeks later. A proposal on the table is that we have a development committee that would converse as often as necessary to make fast decisions, with the committee delegated to make those decisions by the group. The assumption is that the committee would all have to reach consensus to make such decisions. Our Steering Committee os wpndering what other groups have done with this issue/problem. Did you have such a committee? If so, how did it work? And what didn't work about it? If you didn't have such a committee, what problems did you encounter as a result? Thanks! Susan Pintus, Cornerstone
