The SOLTERRA cohousing community in Durham, NC will host its fifth conference for members and other persons interested in joining the community on April 22-23. The conference encourages participation by local people and those from other states and countries with meals and activities arranged to demonstrate community. The sessions will primarily focus on refining drafts of covenants and architectural codes. The group will also visit the 20-acre SOLTERRA site with its 1850's farmhouse and array of outbuilds in a setting of wisteria, redbud, dogwood, and azaleas all in bloom. Included in the tour will be a visit to Arcadia cohousing community in nearby Carrboro where houses now are under construction. Giles Blunden, architect, is the project manager for Arcadia and project architect for SOLTERRA. For information contact Carol Brown Eilber, 71167.2716@ compuserve.com or phone/fax 919-383-4265
