Doyle St. was a limited partnership with the developer as the general
partner when it was a-building, and became a "non-profit mutual benefit
corporation" (as described by Rich yesterday) at move in when the condo
association started. Old Oakland has just become a Limited Liability
Company, a relatively new legal form of organization in California, which is
a type of corporation with many qualities typical of a partnership. (I hope
I have described it correctly--am open to a different understanding if there
is a California attorney out there--David Mandel? Others?)
The LLC will cease to exist (dissolve) when the condo association is formed.
