Maybe I'm in the minority, but I think the recent volume, give or take a few,
is  fine.  We've had a number of comments as to the high quality of this list -
I have nothing to compare it to - but for me, a lot more than this gets
unmanageable -- I hate to have a ton to sort through.  I also remember a number
of postings by people who had browsed the archives first, and then posted a
question.
