I missed the original message. My opinion is you should pick an area, then spend vacation time hanging out in the groups in that area. Bunches of cohousing groups in the Puget Sound area of Seattle, New England area, California and Colorado. It's not like you can't move to another group later if the group you land in is not to your liking, and once you are in a place you have a much better understanding and perspective. Cohousing resales have NOT been a problem at all so give yourself to a group for a couple of years, then you will know enough about how to find the best group for you. Forget about trying to attend meetings from some other long distance place, it just does not work well.
