I was thinking to myself, the kind of cutting board I find so useful would also be useful in a common house. It's really thin and flexible-- you can roll it into a sort of cone to dump stuff off of it, like into a pot. Lightweight, but sturdy enough to protect a counter, stores in almost no space. Easy-wash plastic. It seemed trivial to post, though. But then..... Then I pick up a catalogue I've never seen before, and there they are, but in COLORS like folks have been talking about. Red =meat, yellow=poultry, blue=fish, green=veggies. You could go to a local store and pick up a white one, too, for general purposes, or whatever you choose. Mats are 11.5"x15", four mats, one of each color. Practica catalogue, www.practica.com 1-800-825-9817 "Four Chopping Mats #G20220 $9.95" I've seen the white ones in many sizes, including a really big one. I think the colors are cool, even if you use them all for the same stuff!
