There is a beginning effort being made to create a sustainable community building conference in Seattle, to draw together examples of what has been done and bring together people from all over the world that are working on sustainable community examples. The goal is also to bring in the planners, the architects, bankers and builders and in the ideal, all these people rubbing shoulders and talking with each other, seeing and hearing examples, will bring forth some new ideas and energies towards sustainable community development. The first working title for this conference is Creating Sustainable America, making it happen. If you have a resource or idea for such a conference, send it my way and I will forward it on the planners of this conference. The current, very loose first date for this event is Fall 2001.
