Well, in the years in which we were trying to attract new
members, the "wisdom" bestowed on us by many was that
we should avoid the word 'community' because it reminds
people of 'communes", which reminds them of...  
I always found it tiresome, because it did seem that people
who were so worried about these words are going to avoid
us anyway.
However, I can see that when one makes a t-shirt with the
intent of attracting new members, there is room for debating
such issues.  If the t-shirt is for self amusement, then why
worry?
