The Multi- household Straw Bale home at Concord Oasis in Concord, CA nearing completion of is another possibility for mini-cohousing that interested folks may wish to consider. It's 5 bedrooms, 3 bath, one main kithen, 3 full wetbar "kitchettes", and flexible interior wall setup make this a beautiful small community palette, not to mention the stunning integration of significant green building technologies (i'm prejudiced!). Nearing completion, I'm looking for a group or persons to help me realize some of the community potential of this structure. The neighbors are familiar with some of the cohousing intentions, and might be interested in an N-street style set-up. I think this project really would lend itself to joint ownership or a coop. Please note that I have moved from the area and would be involved primarily in the financial/ mangement aspects through an ownership transition period, unless a group was interested in evolving multi-place based community. Feel free to respond off-list or by phone. I'll be at the site without email access till May 7. I also may know of a couple of persons with similar ideas for homes they Own in the oakland area, but will need to dig through notes.
