> what is the dog for - security or playmate? I started thinking when my influential supervisor (a counselling psychologist) convinced me that there is a lot of merit to children growing up with dogs rather than cats. Whilst I consider myself more "a cat person", cats have been implicicated as risk factor in allergy development in younger children. Dogs, on the other hand, seem less implicated in infections etc. More so, they prompt me to go for walk and apply Carl Roger's unconditional positive regard with a vengeance. I don't like the barking much, so my guess would be that some breeds would be more suitable to cohousing than others... ;-) Hans tilstra [at] smartchat.net.au http://home.vicnet.net.au/~cohouse _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
