I don't think you're as far from wanting a TV in the commonhouse as you say.
It's easy enough to have it in a cabinet that only gets opened for special
occasions, negating the need to schlep it around.

Does anyone have experience in having a full-time TV in the commonhouse? My
suspicion is that people watch TV mostly at home, and that CH TVs get used
more for special events, even when they are available all the time.
