Re: personalities within cohousing communities

I can't answer this question on behalf of "most communities"
but I can say that the people in our group are interested in
doing something positive and socially beneficial with their
lives, and that's why they joined the group. Not everyone is
100% joyful all the time--some people have health problems.

It takes a lot of work to build a community, and if a person
were blue and sad and negative all the time, I just don't know
how they would do it. You have to be optimistic, you have
to be confident, you have to persevere.

Are you thinking of joing a group that is far away? If so,
I would travel to attend at least a couple of meetings
before making up your mind. Groups vary widely from
place to place. You should attend (I would think) at least
a half dozen group meetings before making up your mind.
Different groups will have different people, different
priorities. You have to find the one that matches you.

Hey--I never said it was easy!
