Our project is planned as a15 lot development west of Edmonton, Alberta, on up to 160 acres with a restrictive covenant for nature conservation, an ecological farming easement, strict building standards for energy efficiency, greenhouse gas reduction and monitoring. We expect to have community gardens and a community hall for meals, gatherings, library, play-room and tool workshop. (We are still looking for a property at this point.) Members would own their own houses. One of the questions not yet decided is whether or not the co-op would lease the land that the houses are located on. How is that working out for you? We are hoping to get our legal structure completed by the middle of May and figure that the more we can learn from others, the less we will be saddled with high legal fees for our by-law development. If you have information that you think would be helpful to us, please let me know about how much copying and mail ing would cost and i can send you a money order. Thanks! All the best, godo >godo > We are using a leased lot model here with great latitude in design allowed. >We are also a coop. I'm not sure I can send all of it easily its large. Let >me know. >What have you got going there? >Rod >Rod Lambert >Development/Design Management >Second Neighborhood Group >EcoVillage at Ithaca, >Ithaca NY 14850 >607 275 3362 -- __________________________________________ Godo Stoyke, B.
