Andy,

That is a hard one--- We have yet to use it :-) We will
probably get the CO and have the Common House turned over
to us about November 17. Which is also the projected closing
date for the first homes. ( There are two homes in
the first cluster still available - a B and a C unit. Check
the web site for more info. Call now and be in for
Thanksgiving :-) )

The commercial hood the city wanted was VERY large and if I
remember correctly had to have a fire suppression system built
in. The one we got is not small. It is one you would see in
a Food&Wine article about some chef's home kitchen. I'll
try to get the details next time I'm at the site.

The problems with the commercial hoods cost and noise.
I don't remember exactly but a hood that met the original
city requirements cost something like $10,000. That is
about what we spent on the stove, dishwasher and hood we
have installed. It is also more than the tables and chairs
we've ordered for the dining room. Or the brick setting
wall around the patio. And probably more than the fixtures
in the two washrooms.

Are you happy? We are disagreeing amongst ourselves about meat being
cooked in the common house. One of he objections is cooked meat smell and I
figured a commercial hood would eliminate it.
