Re: Choosing units

Hi all -- Jessie wrote a great summary of our mock draw last night. The
excitement in the room was electric! Quite different from expectations as
there was great anxiety in phone calls and email mounting during the day.
For a while I thought it was going to be a two chocolate bar meeting. Whew!

Jessie complimented me (thank you!) on the facilitation and for working w/
Katherine Matthews of Eco Housing...I'm happy to say, however it was almost
all Katherine and ECO staff who worked so tirelessly in the week previous to
meet as many needs and requests as possible. I played "traffic cop" during
the meeting -- a role I seem suited to w/ my whistle and night stick. (Just
kidding about the whistle and night stick!)

A great evening all around! There was a lot of laughter, chatter and good
feelings all evening. And in a consummate show of community, at least one
member with priority gave up his 1st choice to another member and untangled
a whole knot of overlapping choices. Pretty incredible for a group that for
the first two months of its life met anywhere space was available including
back rooms of restaurants, has met fewer than 2 dozen times total and grown
at the rate of 1 new member household every other day since Jan. 15th! And
we're still on that pace w/ two new members joining in the next two days.

I need a nap every time I think about the growth speed of this group!

Onward!

Ann z.
