Our contact list includes dietary information such as allergies & levels of
vegetarian-ness. How much to make meals fit those limits is up to cooks.
Once every 7 or 8 meals there is no way for a veggie to get a complete meal.
Since we pay based on how many meals we sign up for, vegetarians just don't
eat those meals. There's a bit of persuasion/education that happens by
email & in person: "can you offer a no-cheese version of that?" "Could you
provide no-fat yogurt for the baked potatoes" and so on. That has seemed to
work fine. One person with severe allergies often asks questions of the
cooks to make sure they understand what is in each dish.

Do most communities serve only vegetarian common meals? Mostly? It has
been talked about with us as an environmental statement and to keep
costs down, common meals would be vegetarian. How do other groups deal
with vegetarian vs. meat, seafood, vegan offerings, food allergies,
special diets etc. and having common meals that most can eat?
