Cohousing-L Mailing List: keeping it respectful

STOP!!!! It really pains me to see our listserver hosting personal 
insults. Even if you react to a post with disdain or disbelief, I'm upset 
when writers name-call and make intensely-negative assumptions about the 
individuals who post, about whom one really knows next to nothing of 
their whole life and situation. Cohousing is often supposed to be an 
experiment in a more-positive way to interact. Nobody ever got along 
better, or understood someone else better, because of such name-calling 
communication as we've lately seen from several of our contributors - 
writers who have considerably enriched our knowledge and perspective on 
many other occasions. Would all concerned please just drop this personal 
accusation stuff? Please! 

Let's get back to focus on what we know from our personal experience, and 
chill on the assumptions and categorizations that poison human 
interactions, from friendships to international affairs. 

Just one more example, but it pushed me over the edge:
>Obviously you are one of the "TAKERS".  >Gimmie Gimmie, help poor me...
> ... takers and scammers just like you.
>... You are WRONG.... a ton of people just like you.... fully committed to 
getting by on the >least possible work. Begging...not not willing to 
work...
>You are SO wrong ... your ignorance is laughable..... some silly rally,... 
Such a joke.  You > have NO IDEA. >YOU ARE WRONG. >Go back to school, get 
an education...
>if you can't be bothered to earn >money for tuition.
>But don't spout off on this board about things you know nothing about....
>Your need to force your ignorance and foolish beliefs down others throats...

Enough already!
