Really nice post, Don. We're looking forward into moving into Stone Curves and have followed this thread on hiring community members with interest. Your remarks refute the mercantile POV that so infects our everyday dealings. We've been landlords for many years and the landlord tenant relationship, from the outset, is fraught with baggage from each party's past experience and exacerbated by an unequal "status," for lack of a better word. To cut through that and treat each other with decency and respect is well worth the effort. In cohousing, the same kind of result likely requires the same kind of effort. It's not a blind trust but a respectful and reciprocal exchange that is so rewarding to everyone involved.

You probably know that Stone Curves is in the midst of trying to hammer out a wall/fence policy. It's a fascinating discussion which we can only participate in from a distance since we're in Texas. If you have a few minutes, would be interested to know if there is a formal policy in place for enclosures at Sonora and if so, what's are the premises for your decisions?; did the community require that all those who wished enclosures agree to use the same media or are variances permitted?; can folks install their own enclosures or are they to be professionally installed? do you all offer a palette of choices or .....?

I know James and Diane know all this but they're are swamped with other more immediate concerns if you have some time to discuss it, be interested to learn what y'all have already learned. If not, that's, of course, fine :-).

Best,

Christine Johnson
