Directors & Officers Insurance (was hiring community members)

Oh, Diane called me on my statement about Directors & Officers insurance.. Hmm. Well, I don't know. We are sort of a belt & suspenders organization & we trust our insurance agent. It looks like it provides coverage for acts by the board of directors that are willfully bad (not just casually incompetent), typically related to employment (because otherwise the general liability would cover it). Hmm, that seems like a pretty narrow & unlikely case. Perhaps we should drop it? I'll ask our insurance guy & let you know what I found out.

Jim, would you mind sharing with us the story of why you decided to get Directors & Officers insurance?

Our liability insurance covers most every legal activity on site, except
for folks injured while doing paid work here. For that, we have worker's
comp. (We also have Directors & officers insurance, but that's a
different story)
