Dear Cohousers,

I totally agree with the statement from Wasatch Commons that "keeping
everything completely transparent helped the community."

Over the past seven years we have had a few households not be able to keep
up with their monthly HOA dues.  We have taken the responsibility off of the
Treasurer and made it a community issue.  The person needing some financial
help tells the community at a Business Meeting, and they along with the
Treasurer, come up with a payment plan that works for both the person and
the community.

So far this has worked out well enough.  We did have one previous member who
refused to pay an agreed upon increase, so we noted the amount owed and when
they sold their home, we collected the money at closing.
