This is posted by Lynn Nadeau, the RoseWind Cohousing contact person. Contact me as well, if you want more information about RoseWind or Port Townsend. We are in the general region of Seattle (though not close enough for daily commuting). RoseWind is in its 16th year, with all 24 diverse homes of our lot-development model owned. Resales are infrequent, but happen, and if you try us out this way, you'll know for sure if you want to move quickly on a resale if it happens. We are a fine collection of interesting people, living in a Victorian seaport, with lots of art, music, boats, and liberal and environmental activism. We have views of forests and pastures, but are 5-10 minutes drive from most everything in this town of 8000. Port Townsend is a really excellent place to raise children, with many activities for the school-age and preschool population. RoseWind has a children's playroom in the common house, and a quality swingset/climber in the central field near the gardens. The house for rent is a handsome Victorian-looking house that is very spacious and has quality detailing throughout. The owners are planning to live in another cohousing community for the year. The rent is in line with local market prices, plus this has all the amenities of 4 acres of commons, a common house, fenced vegetable gardens, and our fine company and cooking--- RW has lots of excellent cooks! Please contact Lisa for more info on the house, or me for more info on Port Townsend or RoseWind. (You'd even get to be my next-door neighbor!)
