The 10-15% premimum for cohousing that Becky refers to is accounted for by several factors, only one of which is the generous common facilities. The small scale of cohousing projects also makes a difference. Homebuilders today achieve economies by designing and building hundreds of homes at a time. A third factor is the green features, which usually aren't included in mainstream residential developments. They save money down the road, but they cost more up front. Rick Mockler Davis, CA
