Delaware Street Commons is pleased and proud to announce that on Thursday May 
31st, we signed construction loan documents to finance the construction of our 
neighborhood.  Our builder, Neighbors Construction Company, will begin 
construction straight away.

We have worked hard to get to this point and are looking forward to the 
challenges and opportunities this opens for our community.  Delaware Street 
Commons will be the first Cohousing Neighborhood in Kansas.  Lawrence Kansas is 
the home of the University of Kansas.  Lawrence, a town of 80,000, was settled 
in the years leading up to the Civil War by "Free State" activists intent on 
ensuring that KS would enter the union as a free rather than slave state. The 
culture of Lawrence descends from these abolitionist, New England roots.  
Lawrence is located midway between Kansas City metro area and  Topeka, and is 
within easy commuting distance of both.  Delaware Street Commons is located in 
the heart of Old East Lawrence, 6 blocks from a vibrant downtown and within

It is also our understanding that Delaware Street Commons has the lowest home 
prices of any Cohousing Neighborhood in the U.S.  Our home prices range from 
$140,000 to $225,000.  These prices are effective until August 1 at which time 
we will evaluate our progress and make adjustments as needed.
