If I knew where to do so, I would be happy to challenge this guy in his own
blog. I once gave a cohousing talk to the Daughters of the American
Revolution, a right wing women's group, and at the end of the day, they were
all impressed with how much of the values of service, community and
neighborliness were held in common. (I walked into that talk not knowing
anything about that group and changed my talk once I got there to meet the
common ground I thought we might have.)

We can ignore these people, they will not be our neighbors, but these people
with their misinformed notions can and sometimes do show up at cohousing
land use hearings. If we can ease the fears of a few of them, that might
equate to one less opposer later.

In two weeks I am doing a informational about cohousing to congressman Norm
Dicks. I think the more we get into the world and show them the values and
benefits of cooperative neighbors, the better off everybody is.

found it pretty funny (I've seen similar stuff before by the same author,
highlighting our evil secret conspiracy as "Communitarian Communities - Our
New Government Housing" and "Sustainable Nightmare"):

This is appearing on several libertarian/far-right "news" sites posted
yesterday (apparently through automated syndication), by a self-proclaimed
"renowned writer for Constitutional governance and American culture."
Perhaps we should ask them for help since they'll be reviewing our websites
carefully and might have some bug reports for us.

All I can say is: Keep Up The Great Work, Comrades! Update Those Mission
Statements On Our Long-Neglected Websites! (or try a pop quiz at the next
meeting to see if anyone can remember what's in the mission statement
adopted five years before move-in and relate it to any decision made in the
five years since move-in)
