Dear Coho friends,

I will be presenting a one day workshop on Sociocracy (Dynamic
Self-Governance) March 17 in Amherst MA with a second day option on March
18.

My cohousing community has been working by consensus for 12 years and does
not meet my needs for efficiency or for effectiveness. I stumbled upon
sociocracy several years ago and I am excited about what it offers for
communities and organizations. If you are interested see workshop
description below.

Workshop description:

Beyond democracy: Is there an effective system of decision making and
governance that values equality of power and is proven to work in
businesses, nonprofits, social and political organizations?

SOCIOCRACY
DYNAMIC SELF-GOVERNANCE

A NEW WAY TO ORGANIZE HOW WE LIVE AND WORK

Sociocracy: governance by the ?socios? ? those who work together. Dynamic
Self-Governance is an effective participatory decision making process based
on equivalence of power of all participants regardless of their position in
an organization?s managerial hierarchy. Sociocracy redesigns traditional
organizational decision making and transforms ownership structure and
compensation while still valuing efficiency and profit.
