Santa Rosa Creek Commons is a limited equity affordable housing cooperative , with 27 separate living units, a commons room, laundry facilities, and a garden on two acres of land beside a creek near the center of town. It has the advantages of being centrally located and near public transportation , yet it feels very secluded. We celebrate our 25th anniversary this coming Fourth of July. Santa Rosa is located 60 miles north of San Francisco, California.

Community Values: Besides wanting to live cooperatively and provide affordable housing, SRCC members have agreed to hold a few other values in common: consensus decision-making, nonviolent conflict resolution, and concern for the environment.

Each household in the cooperative owns one share and is thereby entitled to occupy one unit, with most of the privileges of home ownership. The monthly payment for qualified low-income members is about 25% of household income. The purchase share value for qualified low-income residents ranges from about $1,000 to $2,500.

To get on our waiting list, we ask that you learn about us by attending two board meetings, a potluck lunch, a work day, a social event and a committee meeting.
Families have 18 months to complete these requirements .

If you are interested in living in our community with your family, please reply off list to Harriet Lewis, e-mail address: hlewis [at] sonic.net. Please write “Affordable Housing” in the subject line.
