Hi folks! I'm trying to put together some arguments as to why my local council (Brisbane, Australia) should be interested in and supportive of cohousing. We do not yet have any cohousing communities in this city, or even our state (Queensland) but there are plenty of people who are keen. The general statements that I've read about the benefits of cohousing. However, I need some traditional evidence to back this up. Does anyone have details of statistics or awards received in the areas of: community safety health design environment and sustainability social capital economics ...any other area I've forgotten Many thanks and warm regards, Chris Gibbings Community Development Officer Access and Equity Team Brisbane City Council GPO Box 1434 BRISBANE QLD 4001 ph: 3403 4585 fx: 3403 4774 mob: 0408 722 930 e-mail: chris.gibbings [at] brisbane.qld.gov.au Brisbane Affordable Housing and Homelessness Calendar http://freecal.brownbearsw.com/BrisbaneHousingAndHomelessness "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter" Martin Luther King ********************************************************************** This message has passed through an insecure network.
