So I believe you meant to say that just knowing the aggregate amount of one community dues may not provide enough info for another community dues reassessment.
Yes, what I meant was that you have to know what HOA dues include in order to compare them.
In a lot development model, for example, even if you have a common house, the maintenance of the exterior grounds assigned to individual homes may be maintained by them. In ours all the plants and mulch and lawn feeding are paid for by the community. We pay for all the exterior painting and fence maintenance. We pay for childcare at meetings and very simple lunches on workdays but the vast bulk of the expenses are for facilities maintenance and savings for major repairs and maintenance. And that average is about $300 a month.
