Have other completed communities purchased this emergency medical device, the Automated External Defibrillator? We're currently discussing buying one; it would cost $1,500. Our community has never discussed the matter. However, when I served on a mountain community volunteer fire department, we were trained in the use of the device. We also learned that the recovery rate is very low when it is used. We never used it during the 3 years I served. A better use of community funds and efforts might be to have a number of members trained in emergency first aid and CPR. Larry Miller Oak Creek Commons
