April, If your looking for underground ideas, the subway systems "could" be a potential inspiration. Some of the Metro in Moscow has underground areas that look very nice with shops etc. Wide walkways with space that is used, keeps things safe. I could see skylights, etc helping out in this regard. I have no idea what the costs would be, and drainage could certainly be an issue. With skylights, I could see a garden space underground instead of a tunnel. -Matt
