Rodney, Experience suggests that finding enough copy (and workers) to sustain a newsletter is hard. What has been more successful at Shadowlake Village is something that started as "Appreciations", an emailed compilation of what the title suggests, which has evolved into online "Reflections", a combination of appreciations with photos of folks and events. Photos take up a lot of space so that 6 or 8 pages can be filled. Looking at pictures of folks (especially the kids) and events in past issues is very evocative of good memories, probably more so that reading that (for example) Mary returned from visiting her family and John has had his hot water heater fail.
It would appear there are available attractive and free formats (google ezine) into which one can put photos and text with some ease - or else we have some very skilled webpage designers donating their time. https://www.dropbox.com/s/unxb3mpyhmr6nc3/SLVReflections.pdf?n=5145087. This is a big 13 MB file. Just looking at this edition from last Spring reminds me how lucky I am to be able to live here.
