Following up on Phil's thought:  in some cohousing communitiies, it's more
of a challenge to find any privacy outdoors.  Out of Cornerstone's 32
units, only 7 are townhouses, and five of those have front doors on the
public street and back doors (and tiny patios) facing the main walkways of
the community.  Then we have 23 units in two multi-family buildings, where
most or all have a small outdoor balcony but only 8 have a ground-level
porch or patio and only 4 of those could be described as private space.
