Again, I think this is related to the age and permanence of the residents. 
Designing for a college dorm for 18-22 year olds is different than for those 
who are in their first jobs and possibly new relationships. Or for singles in 
the 40-50 range. Or older. 

Lifestyle and age will affect this as much as personality.
